Purdy is an early participant in artificial intelligence. She obtained her Bachelor’s, Master’s, and MBA degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Purdy majored in Electrical Engineering and conducted her master’s thesis in machine learning. During her early career in AI, she was granted two US patents, and her research was published in prestigious conferences such as NIPS, ECCV, and ICCV.

After receiving her MBA from Sloan, Purdy transitioned to equity research in New York, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. Since 2016, she has held the position of Head of Global Technology, where her research primarily focuses on artificial intelligence and semiconductors. Her coverage includes NVIDIA, AMD, Intel, Micron, among others. Additionally, Purdy’s research extends to Chinese startups that specialize in autonomous driving and some gaming names listed in Hong Kong.

Purdy placed second in the New Fortune Best Analyst Award (China) in Overseas Coverage from 2017 to 2019. In 2019 and 2023, she was named Institutional Investors Best Sector Analyst (Mainland China), and in 2021, Purdy was recognized by Asiamoney as Best Sector Analyst for Leisure & Gaming (Hong Kong).
